Returning a system to a previous known-good version, with a tested, time-bounded procedure defined before deployment.
Rollbacks apply to code, migrations (expand/contract), model/prompt versions and indexes. Untested rollback is fiction - the runbook guide treats 'rehearsed' as part of the definition.
