Learn AI-Assisted Coding Without Installing Anything
Updated · Tech checked
The full beginner path runs in the browser: lessons, three-file labs, local tools. Install an editor only when curious, never as a gate.
The direct answer
Nothing in the required path needs installation: read the lesson, open the three starter files in the lab page, edit in the page, check the validation list. The browser runs HTML, CSS and JavaScript natively. Editors, Git and hosts are optional extras with their own guides.
What runs where
- Lessons and checks: this site, any browser.
- Labs A01-A24: the lab page with starter files, hints and solutions.
- Tools: brief, debugging and checklist pages run locally in the browser.
- Capstone: the same three files, bigger scope, same checks.
Limits honestly stated
Big screens are more comfortable for editing; phones read lessons and run checks fine. Shared backends and app-store publishing are outside this course by design.
Frequently asked questions
When should I install an editor? When you edit daily and want files on disk; guide 4 shows the first open-save-reload loop.
Is browser work real work? Yes. The same files, the same checks, the same delivery record.
