Audit an Operate-and-Handover Package Solo
55 min hands-on · Advanced
A fixture system with a provided handover package (runbooks, ownership map, known issues, contacts); a peer observer who stays silent during the audit.
Local guide: run the steps below on your own machine in order, then check the validation list.
Objectives
- Operate from the package alone while observed silently
- Log every stall as a package defect without blame
- Fix the gaps and pass re-audit
Step 1
Audit solo
Triage a staged symptom using only the runbook, find an owner from the map, follow a contact path. The observer notes stalls silently; quote each stall with what the package lacked.
Step 2
Fix the gaps
Fix every logged gap same-day: missing contact verified live, stale runbook step corrected, dead owner replaced. Record each fix with its verification.
Step 3
Pass re-audit
Re-run the audit with a fresh symptom and quote both resolutions clean. Log the fixed gaps as the drill's value with the package version bumped.
How to confirm it worked
- Solo audit with stalls logged as defects
- Gaps fixed same-day with live verification
- Re-audit quoted clean on both symptoms
